Community Participation and Engagement

How to Participate

Members of the public can play a more active role in their own health care, gain access to new research treatments before they are widely available, and help improve health care for everyone by participating in clinical trials. Clinical trials are research studies that are carefully designed to answer questions about the safety and effectiveness of medical treatments for illness and injuries.

Clinical Research Center

Located on the fifth floor of MU's University Hospital and School of Medicine, the University of Missouri Clinical Research Center is ideally positioned to serve as a bridge between patient-centered care and biomedical science. The location is easily accessible by patients and volunteers, as well as scientists and clinicians throughout the University of Missouri's schools, centers and network of hospitals and clinics.

Participant Registry

The Participant Registry connects community members with information about research supported by the University of Missouri Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICATS). You can register to learn more about clinical trials that might be right for you, sign up to receive news about the most promising biomedical research at MU, or request an expert to speak to your community group or organization.
